  1. Had Margaret been able to marry Group Captain Peter Townsend she may very well have been a whole lot happier, though considerably less wealthy. Her inheritance from her father,King George VI,would not have sustained her rather luxurious lifestyle. As it was,her eventual marriage to Anthony Armstrong Jones in 1960 didn't last even whilst producing two children ... so perhaps she simply was incapable of true inner happiness.
  2. Princess Grace, Nationals treasure..
  3. I feel sorry for Princes Margaret. I do not believe it was The Queen's fault. The government was responsible for blocking the marriage, I am sure.
I loathe Mrs Simpson. I get so annoyed when people admire her 'style'. What style? The tedious woman was put together by the vendeusse at Dior, Chanel, Cardin, Givenchy etc. With assistance like that, who could go wrong?!!! It is not as if she was obliged to put together a luxury look from the offerings at Marks & Spencer! And the rocks from Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpel didn't do her look any harm either! And on top of that, her house which people constantly babble on about, was decorated by Stefan Boudain! She did her country house herself and it was pathetic! Utterly tasteless! Mrs Simpson was nearly a non-event. Her only virtue was that she married Edward VIII which meant that the Duke and Duchess of York became King and Queen and that was a blessing indeed.
